Dance Attire

Proper dance attire helps students move safely, develop correct technique, focus and feel part of the class from their very first lesson. Please wear dance attire to every class.

• Parent and Child Class: Comfortable clothing or dancewear that allows for easy movement for both children and adults. Children may wear whatever footwear they feel comfortable in. Adults, please remove your shoes before entering the studio.

Ballet

• Pre-Ballet: Light pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Optional: a simple light pink pull-on dance skirt or a light pink leotard with an attached skirt. We recommend classic ballet slippers—without laces, bows, or glitter—from a dance store. Costumes and tutus are not permitted in class. Hair should be worn up and off the face in either a bun or ponytail. Boys' Pre-Ballet Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black ballet slippers.
• Ballet  5-6 yrs.: Light pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Optional: a simple light pink pull-on dance skirt or a light pink leotard with an attached skirt. • Ballet 7 yrs & up: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be worn up and off the face in a bun. Boys' Ballet Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black ballet slippers. Street clothes are not permitted in Ballet class.

Tap

• Pre-Tap Class: Leotard of any solid color worn with black or pink tights or black leggings. Optional: simple solid colored dance skirt or a solid leotard with an attached skirt. Black tap shoes are required. All students must wear their own black tap shoes to class each week. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Long Hair: ponytail. Short Hair: half-up, half-down. Boys' Pre-Tap Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black tap shoes. 
• Tap Class: Kindergarten and up: Black leotard to be worn with either black tights or black leggings. Dancers may choose to wear a simple pull-on black dance skirt with black tights or an all black dance dress with tights. All students must wear their own black tap shoes to class each week. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Long Hair: ponytail. Short Hair: half-up, half-down. Boys' Tap Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black tap shoes.

Jazz & Hip-Hop

• Pre-Jazz & Hip Hop Class: Leotard of any color or athletic/workout top worn with black leggings or dance shorts. Either black jazz shoes or black ballet slippers are required. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Long Hair: ponytail. Short Hair: half-up, half-down.  Boys' Pre-Jazz & Hip Hop Attire: T-shirt of any solid color with gray or black sweatpants and either black jazz shoes or black ballet slippers are required. 
• Jazz & Hip Hop Class, 5 yrs & up: Leotard of any color or athletic/workout top worn with black leggings or dance shorts. Black jazz shoes are required. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Long Hair: ponytail. Short Hair: half-up, half-down. Boys' Jazz & Hip Hop Attire: T-shirt of any solid color with gray or black sweatpants and black jazz shoes. 
• Hip Hop Class: T-shirt or athletic/workout top and/or leotard with black or gray sweatpants and sneakers. Please dedicate use of sneakers for dance class only. Boys' Hip Hop Attire: T-shirt of any solid color with gray or black sweatpants and sneakers. Please dedicate use of sneakers for dance class only.
