Dress Code for Class

Dance Attire

Proper dance attire helps students move safely, develop correct technique, focus and feel part of the class from their very first lesson. Please wear dance attire to every class.

  • Parent and Child Classes: Comfortable clothing or dancewear that allows for easy movement for both children and adults.

Ballet

  • Pre-Ballet: Light pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Optional: a simple light pink pull-on dance skirt or a light pink leotard with an attached light pink skirt. Costumes and tutus are not allowed in class. Hair should be worn up and off the face either in a bun or ponytail. Boys' Ballet Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black ballet slippers.
  • Ballet  5-6 yrs.: Light pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Optional: a simple light pink pull-on dance skirt or a light pink leotard with an attached light pink skirt.   • Ballet 7 yrs & up: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be worn up and off the face in a bun. Boys' Ballet Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black ballet slippers

Tap

  • Pre-Tap Class: Leotard of any solid color worn with black or pink tights or black leggings. Optional: simple solid colored dance skirt or a solid leotard with an attached skirt. Black tap shoes are required. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Boys' Tap Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black tap shoes.
  • Tap Classes Kindergarten and up: Black leotard to be worn with either black tights or black leggings. Dancers may choose to wear a simple pull-on black dance skirt with black tights or an alll black dance dress. All students must wear their own black tap shoes to class each week. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Boys' Tap Attire: Solid white T-shirt with black sweatpants and black tap shoes.

Jazz & Hip-Hop

  • Jazz/Hip Hop Classes Pre-Jazz through Teen: Leotard of any color or dance shirt worn with black leggings. Black jazz shoes are required. Hair should be worn up and off the face. Boys: T-shirt of any solid color with gray or black sweatpants and sneakers. 
  •  Hip Hop Class: T-shirt or dance top and/or leotard with black or gray sweatpants and dance sneakers. Boys: T-shirt of any solid color with gray or black sweatpants and dance sneakers.
